Business Resource Team (BRT)

The Business Resource Team (BRT) is made up of specialists from several different agencies and organizations working as a team to help companies and employers in the Southern Oregon area. The purpose of the BRT is to provide companies with job training and placement assistance quickly and efficiently. The Members of BRT provide information and help in the following areas:

  • Pre-employment training
  • Personnel recruitment
  • Job placement services
  • Labor market information
  • Unemployment insurance benefits
  • Short term vocational training
  • On-site training
  • Pre-employment testing
  • Worker support services

The Business Resource Team is committed to meeting the special requirements of employers, and keeping Rogue Valley workers employable and readily available in the local labor pool. Most services are free, and in some cases, state and federal funding may be available to supplement the training programs. The BRT provides fast action for employers.

New Businesses and Expansions

BRT  moves quickly to provide the services you need to recruit, screen and hire workers with the right skills for the job. The BRT is able to custom-design training programs for workers who need additional skills for a certain job. Moving your company to the area? Tell us in advance about your work force requirements. The Business Resource Team will put a package of services together to meet your needs precisely:

  • Assistance to enterprise zones
  • Coordination with local economic development projects
  • Job recruitment and placement
  • New employee training
  • Personnel services
  • Pre-employment screening
  • Targeted training programs

Downsizing or Closures

BRT is able to respond quickly to meet the special needs of workers about to be displaced. We do this by arranging for job search preparedness programs and vocational training, followed by placement within new or similar industries. BRT also works with employees needing retraining. Through specialized programs, workers can effectively transfer their skills to virtually any new employer. Look to the BRT for expertise in the following areas:

  • College education opportunities
  • Job placement for displaced workers
  • Job search skills
  • Laid-off worker transition
  • Relocation assistance
  • Retraining programs
  • Skill enhancement
