*Grant Writing Institutes

This intensive three day institute is designed for community nonprofit staff and board members actively seeking funds for their organization. Day one, Grant Writing Essentials, is a prerequisite for the days that follow. Participants will be guided through fundamental components of a formal proposal. Days two and three, Applied Grant Writing, are a closely supervised grant writing lab for grantseekers, with reviews, personal consultation and feedback sessions.

This institute will be conducted by Kathy Ingram Ph.D. Dr. Ingram has generated more than $20 million in federal funds and hundreds of successful foundation grants on behalf of her clients. A PNN trainer since 1988, she in known throughout the state for her fund raising accomplishments, facilitation and technical expertise as well as her personal style.

*Researching Funding Opportunities

This hour and a half workshop is an excellent introduction to non-profit funding and development resources. An overview of the materials located in the Grantsmanship Library & Resource Centers, each site hosts its own review of materials, guidelines, available technology, and other appropriate resources on a regular basis. This class includes an explanation of foundation funders' general requirements, a look at the world of electronic researching, non-profit management Q & A, and an opportunity for hands-on research. $10 (20% discount to affiliates)

*Board Basics

Essential fundamentals, including roles, rules and responsibilities for becoming an effective nonprofit board member. What they should have taught you when you agreed to become a board member. For the long on “caring” and short on experience.

*Beyond Board Basics

Strategies and applications of board practices utilizing participants and presenters experiences. For those already grounded in the basics of being a nonprofit board member who are open to expanding and fine tuning your board knowledge and abilities.

*Strategic Planning

Mission Statement or Mission Impossible? Your strategic plan can be an exercise in futility or a working document that helps you help our community. Find out how to develop a plan and make it work for you. In this two part workshop you will learn the elements of an effective plan, discover ways to overcome common pitfalls to planning, and find out how to keep your plan alive. Register early as this class is in high demand.

*Mediation

Learn the skills to effectively and productively solve problems and get things done.

*Fundraising Fundamentals

Community leaders, nonprofit boards, executive directors and anyone interested in fundraising will learn how to succeed in raising money for their organizations with this workshop.

*Recruiting and Retaining Volunteerss

This workshop is targeted toward executive directors and others responsible for recruiting and directing volunteers. In this workshop you will:

*Media Relations

This training is targeted toward executive directors, board presidents and community leaders who need to work with media and public reletions. In this Workshop you will learn to handle pr and media relations, presentation develop, crisis communication and related disciplines from a professional.

*Evaluating Programs & Processes

Learn the ins and outs of productively evaluating an organization's programs and processes

*CEO Assessment and Executive Diretor Search

Learn the methods to productively assess a CEO and recruit an Executive Director for your organization

*Consensus Building

Make diversity of opinion work positively in your board meetings and prevent rupture as the outcome of disputes. No matter if you chair or conduct meetings or attend them as a member, this workshop can help you learn the skills to keep meetings running smoothly and accomplish what you need to accomplish
